Some of little things I was apparently supposed to complete last winter break.
1. get my hair dyed dark brown. possibly get bangs. did both, but kept the bangs and let my hair grow my natural color again.
2. learn to play anything on my guitar. I learned nothing about my guitar, but learned a lot about making digital magazines. I’d say it was a fair tradeoff.
3. practice drawing. This is still in progress.
4. begin exercising again. It’s been sporadic, but I did take yoga and pick up running as always. Last year was a bad year for sticking to an exercise plan.
5. finish Angel season 1 + 2. A sad, but true accomplishment.
6. work on my final packaging project. Semi-epic fail.
7. properly make an Angel food cake.
8. have a Jake Gyllenhall movie marathon with my sister.
9. snow-related photoshoot. I drove up and down the turnpike last winter taking photographs of small road-stop towns.
10. work on portfolio & website for Confluence. Sort of always a work in progress, but I did finish everything in time for Confluence.
Looking back on this list was nothing short of hilarious, and it makes me happy knowing my priorities have changed a bit. But I also kind of love setting little life goals that are reasonably achievable, despite the fact they might be completely insignificant in the grand scheme of things. I think the insignificant things are what keeps me sane, especially when my life begins to get swallowed up by school and career goals. I love the idea of this list. I’ll make another one soon.
